WATERFALL ARTS FOUNDATION

SPIRIT . ART . CULTURE

As of May 2019, The Waterfall Arts Foundation (WAF) has been officially incorporated as a non-profit (registered as 501c3) to sustain Waterfall’s work of serving living artists and the community since 2014. Waterfall believes art is much more than a commodity; they are windows through which we can all feel, imagine, and hope. Our mission is to restore the dreams and hopes of artists everywhere in recognition of the vital role they play as a catalyst for human flourishing.

“Artists should not be isolated and should be fostered in a community.”

— Kate Shin, Founder of Waterfall Arts Foundation

our vision

The Waterfall Arts Foundation (a 501c foundation) exists to see artists flourish spiritually, creatively, and economically.

We restore the hopes and dreams of artists everywhere in recognition of the vital role they play as a creative catalyst for human healing and community cultivation.

The Waterfall Arts Foundation aims to cultivate a culture of care for artists and provide a safe place to have their worldview shaped, of which directly impacts their artwork. We emphasize the storytelling of artists background and creative process to the community to inspire dialogue and expand imagination.

our belief

Today, the traditional art world model views artists as commodities to be exploited for economic gain. We believe artists are much more than commodities; they are windows through which we can all feel, imagine, and hope.

Recognizing the constraints inherent in the conventional art gallery sales approach, Waterfall is committed to devise more effective, affordable and accessible formats to expand the market for living artists' artwork creation and sales.

We operate with a visionary commitment to empower both contemporary artists to flourish and to cultivate communities that prioritize art and culture, nurturing an environment of care and support.

  1. ARTIST CARE: The Waterfall Arts Foundation seeks to support international living artists from across the spectrum of the arts, through personable creative programmes such as exhibitions, healing workshops, residencies, patron formation, partnerships and collaborations.

  2. COMMUNITY CARE: We develop artistic content and provide an environment that focuses on faith, art and culture. As a result, we foster healing, imagination & character formation for all by curating programs for the community.

THE LIGHTHOUSE

Like a beacon in art & culture world, the WATERFALL directs those in search of truth and spiritual healing. A safe harbor of elegance filled with hope, faith and renewal for all those in service of beauty.

“Waterfall is a place where artists can seek refuge not in the sense of shelter but rather expression and making statements to show the world.”

-Nelson Mandela’s grandson and Film Producer, Kweku Mandela

“Waterfall does not abstract the art away from the artist - it presents them both to us in integrated wholes. It seeks the flourishing of the artist. It is a genuine community that unites artists and lovers of art. I know of nothing like it.”

- Pastor Emeritus, Redeemer Presbyterian Church of NYC, Tim Keller

“I am impressed by Kate Shin’s extraordinary vision of the arts for our time. International in scope, personal in approach, and generous in spirit, the Waterfall Foundation seeks to nurture artists and further their role in enriching our cultural and spiritual lives. Elegant and calm, her Waterfall Gallery epitomizes Kate’s dream for the arts.“
